Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a Canadian-American comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of awards which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018 she was recognized as an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she won the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards. O'Hara made her debut for her acting in the year 1974, when she was a member of The Second City in Toronto. She was part of the main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara joined Candy on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984). She received praise from critics for both her acting and writing skills and was honored with an Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
